The Business Controller is responsible for providing financial insights and visibility on performance, identifying recommendations to the Finance Director, department Director, and senior management to address any deviations, and act as a change agent to implement recommendations.A day in the life:

  • Responsible for overseeing the process and planning of the annual budget, monthly forecasts, and monthly closures in collaboration with finance analysts and departments.
  • Ensure business analysis for their scope, forecast accuracy, conduct variance analysis, and provide proactive recommendations to the senior management.
  • Develop business cases and financial modelling for key projects, pricing, and profitability using verified and sound assumptions as well as relevant sensitivity analysis.
  • Coaching and developpe Financial Analysts to perform closing and budget management activities.

Role Requirements

  • Bilingualism in English and French language skills are a requirement, as this position requires collaboration with stakeholders across the Canadian market and worldwide.
  • 5-10 years of experience in financial planning & analysis, business controlling, or similar roles
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required, with CPA or equivalent financial designation preferred.

  • Proven ability to act as a trusted business partner, build strong relationships with other departments and senior management.
  • Analytical, solution-oriented, and proactive in providing business recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to simplify complex concepts and adapt communication to different audiences.
