You will support the smooth running of the DofE’s operations relating to Approved Activity Providers (AAP) and also work across the wider Quality and Compliance team. Approved Activity Providers are organisations who are licenced to provide a section of the Duke of Edinburgh’s award. They range in size from sole traders to large complex organisations and the DofE AAP team supports about 460 AAPs currently.The Business Support manager has one Business Support Officer working for them and as a team, they work very closely with the AAP internal team assisting with queries, data management, finance queries etc. They also support the AAP network directly with customer queries, invoicing, chasing debt, relicensing and collating returns. In addition, the BSM will be required to work across the wider Quality and Compliance team that the AAP team sits within. This could include budget management, support with recruitment and development of KPIs. The BSM will report to the Director of Quality and Compliance.The day to day job is varied. It frequently involves using complex spreadsheets and CRM databases to keep track of progress with relicensing, communicating with AAPs to progress their re-licence process, setting up and progressing the re-licence process, interrogating the finance system to check invoices or for debt, raising invoices for licence fees, chasing debt and answering queries sent by email and by phone. In addition, the jobholder supports the BSO doing similar tasks, ensuring a quality and accurate service is provided.What we are looking for:You will have experience of people management, supporting and developing colleagues to perform well. You should have experience of customer service, providing a timely quality service to a wide range of customers.You will need to be highly organised and comfortable dealing with complex processes and large data sets. You will need to be a confident Excel user including using filtering and pivot tables. A good eye for detail is essential to ensure that information provided is correct first time and that data sets are accurate.You will have experience of working/volunteering in situations where personal interactions with others are the key to success. You will be a self-starter with experience of providing good administrative support, you will have good organisation skills, be able to use your initiative, have attention to detail and be customer and colleague focused.
