An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic Business Support Officer in the Infection Prevention and control Team at the Welsh Ambulance Service Trust. The post holder will be key to coordinating the daily activities of the team and supporting the Head of Infection Prevention and Control in providing an efficient service for the organisation. The Business Support Officer will be well organised and vital to maintaining the administrative function required for the Infection Prevention and Control team to function effectively.The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.Main duties of the jobThe post holder will provide and receive routine and sometimes contentious requests for information from within the Trust, host organisations and external sources, and answer queries via telephone, in person or electronically, ensuring accurate and timely information is recorded and communicated as appropriate, using tact and diplomacy to follow a specific course of action to resolve their query.The post holder will be responsible for diary co-ordination of the Senior Management Team, arrange meetings and make appointments, book meeting rooms, set up electronic equipment utilising Trust equipment and co-ordinate, if required, the provision of refreshments. This may require the negotiation and prioritisation of other meetings to ensure meeting rooms/video links are available.This role can be performed both remotely and/or office based.   • NVQ level 3 in Business and Administration or equivalent qualification.
  • European Computer Driving License (ECDL) qualification. RSA Stage II typing / word processing qualifications or equivalent.
  • Experience of working in an administrative environment, including co-ordinating diaries/rotas and allocating tasks, as well as dealing with complex queries.
  • Excellent communication skills, advanced keyboard / word processing skills. Familiar with Microsoft Office packages. Ability to work under pressure. Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Self-Motivated. Flexible attitude to work. Team player

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a Health Service environment
  • Ability to speak Welsh
