Our team members have what they need to make a meaningful impact and are truly valued for who they are and what they contribute.To learn more about CIBC, please visitWhat you’ll be doingYou will be joining the enterprise technology team in CIBC, As part of the CIBC team, the Business Systems Analyst (BSA) plays a key role in managing the flow of information, accurately capturing stakeholder requirements, and conducting thorough data analysis. You will create and/or contribute to the creation of comprehensive documentation that reflects all applicable project requirements, both functional and non-functional. Supporting the team’s objectives, you will aid in the technical interpretation of business processes and contribute to client review sessions, informing technology-related decisions that align with company goals.You will assist in enhancing existing processes, through thoughtful recommendations and support of innovative technology solutions. You will assist a team that includes business analysts, other BSA, application developers, QA tests and project managers, providing insights into the effective use of technology. While addressing a range of areas, you will apply your analytical skills in support technology innovations and methodologies designed to meet the evolving needs of our business partners.At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. - Documenting and Analyzing Requirements – Conduct analysis of business partner requirements and report on requirements. Prepare and distributed clear documentation. Work with other functional team members to ensure business needs are accurately capture, clearly outlined and technically feasible.
- Collaboration – Participate in coordinating tasks and gathering information for system specifications. Support project team by contributing and reviewing variety of project documentations.
- Supporting Solution Design – Assist in shaping solutions that fulfill business requirements. Contribute to the preparation of solution design documentation, ensuring clarity, alignment and traceability between design, solution, and business requirements.
Who you are
- Foundational Experience – You have 1-3 years’ experience in business systems analysis, preferably with exposure to Corporate Finance in the Financial Services Sector.
- Communication – With strong command of interpersonal communication, you are adept at presenting and managing multiple competing tasks, comfortable working both independently with little assistance and as part of a cross-functional collaborative team.
- Requirements Analysis – You are skills at eliciting requirements, analyzing databases and application code (as required), while contributing to the creation of practical and detailed technical documentation.
- Collaborative Approach – You can engage with various team members across both business and technology in discussing requirements in both business and technical terms.
- Technical Skills – High proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Visio, is essential. Familiarity with relational databases and ETL process is an asset.
- Domain Knowledge – Understanding of financial and management accounting principles, regulatory and management reporting, or enterprise financial planning within the banking sector would be also beneficial.
- Technology Adaptability – You are familiar with database and BI technologies such as Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server, and BI tools like Tableau, OBIEE or PowerBI, which would be considered an asset.
