Position Summary

The Cardiac Electrophysiology Technologist within the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre Holter and Stress Clinic will work in collaboration with the inter-professional team in the assessment, planning and delivery of safe and quality patient care.

Duties

  • Holter monitor acquisition, troubleshooting and management of Northeast, GE and GE 12 lead monitors at our two clinics located at Toronto General and Toronto Western hospital.
  • Analyzing of Holter reports,
  • Performing Graded Exercise Tests, Pharmacologic and Ergometer stress tests.
  • Practice in a collaborative and patient centered role that complies with departmental and hospital policies, in order to deliver safe and efficient patient care.

Qualifications

  • At minimum, completion of a recognized 2 year Cardiac Technologist Diploma program
  • CSCT (Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists) registration
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S)
  • Minimum 1 year experience related to Cardiac diagnostic testing in a similar setting
  • Previous experience in Holter monitor scanning with Northeast and GE systems is an asset.
  • Previous experience in various Stress testing modalities; Treadmill, Pharmacological and Ergometer.
  • Experience in IV insertion and maintenance
  • Comprehensive knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology
  • Excellent problem recognition and problem solving skills
  • Effective time management skills, ability to organize work and set priorities

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Computer literacy; E-Faxing, emailing and electronic documentation.
  • Knowledge of hospital emergency codes and procedures.
