At the ENMAX group of companies, we look for energy solutions for today, while knowing we have the power to provide for a better tomorrow.The Cash Control Accountant is responsible for the Cash settlement, Customer payment posting, Trade confirmation and the Bank Reconciliation functions. There is extensive interaction with both internal and external customers which requires excellent interpersonal skills.Major Responsibilities:Accurately receive, review, and record daily deposits into ENMAX bank accounts, ensuring all transactions are properly documented.Perform daily reconciliations for multiple bank accounts, ensuring that all transactions are accurately reflected in the general ledgerInvestigate and resolve any discrepancies between the general ledger and bank statements, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recordedVerify foreign exchange rates in EKA, and perform monthly FX netting and settlement processesCreate and post journal entries for month-end activities, payroll entries, hedging, and other relevant transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting standardsPrepare and confirm daily bank deposits, ensuring timely and accurate recordingApply payments to WD accounts receivable invoices, ensuring accurate and timely postingRecord and reconcile customer credit card payments, ensuring all transactions are accurately capturedProcess NSF and stale-dated cheques, and promptly notify relevant business unitsPrepare and post WD accounts receivable write-offs, ensuring accurate financial reportingPerform reconciliations for various accounts, including cash related accounts, short-term debt, foreign exchange, and credit card transactionsEnsure that cleared cheques are processed accurately and monitor for any potential fraudulent activity on a daily basisProcess customer refunds, ensuring timely and accurate disbursementEducation Required:University bachelor’s degree in accounting or financeEnrolled in a designated professional program and having achieved the 3rd step.Qualifications & Experience:Minimum 3 years in Cash Control accounting experience or Diploma in accounting or Finance with 5 years’ experience in Cash Control accounting.Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, EKA and Workday or an equivalent ERP systemStrong knowledge of cash handing procedure and financial reconciliationCompetencies:A self-starter who can work independently, while managing multiple priorities under tight deadlinesStrong attention to detail and accuracyExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillAbility to work independently and manage a large volume of accounting transaction.
