Job description

You will have the opportunity to work with representatives from across North America in a fast-paced environment and will support organizations that raise millions of dollars each year for Ontario & North American non-profit organizations and charitable foundations. As the Lottery Division is always changing and growing, there may be opportunities to expand the role and take on more responsibility as you grow.

What Will You Do?

Reporting to a Lotteries Operation Analyst, you will be responsible for the monthly accounting functions associated with our Charitable Gaming division.

Specifically, you will:

  • Analyze & organize monthly revenue reports to prepare invoices for Bingo & e-Raffle partners;
  • Maintain the financial records for CBN charitable gaming operations including day-to-day book-keeping, AR, AP, reconciliations;
  • Track & recover costs associated with large scale capital investments;
  • Advise decision makers on budgeting & planning by providing detailed reporting;
  • Assist CBN Legal with annual compliance filings & provide financial insight into contracts;
  • Regularly liaise with various other CBN departments including Corporate Finance, Purchasing, Shipping, & our operations team in SSM

What Will Help You Succeed?

A post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting, knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and 1-3 years of accounting-related work experience will ensure your success in this role. We are also open to considering those who possess extensive experience in lieu of academic credentials. Beyond that, we are looking for someone who has:

Knowledge/Experience

  • Experience with computerized accounting systems;
  • Intermediate Excel skills;
  • Basic understanding of database systems would be an asset.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent time management skills;
  • Well-developed communication skills;
  • An analytical mindset;
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

Mandatory Requirements

  • The ability to obtain and maintain Government of Canada Reliability (Level 1) clearance;
  • Availability to travel domestically and internationally 2-5 weeks annually.
