The COO will ultimately have a transformational impact on the business. This individual will play an integral part as the business evolves operationally and culturally.

The COO will provide inspirational leadership, managing multi-million-pound budgets and will be responsible for:

  • Working closely with the other senior leaders to drive the Company strategic vision
  • Contributing to the management of the business through clear strategic aims, strong operational execution and ensuring profitable delivery against a setting of continued growth and evolution
  • Effectively leading Retail, Security, Head Office Operational and H&S teams and their respective budgets.
  • Inspiring a team of enthusiastic, motivated professionals behind a vision with which they can personally engage and managing everyone in a manner where they can deliver to the best of their ability
  • Creating and maintaining a high performance environment to meet the ever-changing needs and demands of the business and driving organisational effectiveness and efficiencies
  • Working with relevant cross-functional department teams to participate in the production of sound business plans and to help ensure the accuracy of budget predictions
  • Ensure all necessary processes are defined, documented, implemented and managed in a robust manner whilst still enabling flexibility and operational efficiency
  • Monitoring and tracking the sector trends and developments to support the delivery of strategic plans
  • Bring forward to the CEO new growth & savings opportunities for the business
  • Fostering a culture of continuous improvement, developing successors, and taking ownership of personal and professional growth
  • Managing the development of the businesses capabilities and ensuring that key skills and expertise are transferred to relevant individuals in line with business plans and developments

  • Substantial general management experience; an expert in leading and inspiring sizeable teams, preferably within a fast-paced retail environment.
  • A commercially astute, highly strategic leader with a strong and intimate focus on the customer.
  • Strong financially, with excellent budgetary, forecasting, and future planning skills.
  • Experience of managing a substantial growth programme and a strong project management mind set.
  • Sharp intellect and well-developed analytical and critical reasoning skills. Natural self-confidence and awareness combined with extremely high levels of emotional intelligence.
  • Ability to integrate their own leadership style into a business with a strong existing culture and identity.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, development and change management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A willingness to roll-up-the-sleeves, when appropriate, and lead from the front.
  • High levels of flexibility, drive, energy, and resilience.
  • Must be based in or willing to relocate to the South West of England.
