The Commission on Human Medicines (CHM) is looking to appoint an expert to the Medicines for Womens Health Expert Advisory Group (MWH EAG). The MWH is an EAG of the CHM which advises the Licensing Authority (Health Ministers) on the safety, quality and efficacy of medicines for human use and to promote the collection and investigation of adverse drug reactions. The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) seeks independent advice from the CHM. The MWH EAG remit covers applications for new medicines and safety issues arising with medicines which are already in clinical use for the following: contraception, assisted reproduction, obstetrics and gynaecology, menopause, osteoporosis, endocrinology (for men or women), safety of use of medicines during pregnancy.   • Be able to assimilate and interpret complex scientific information and formulate evidencebased comments /advice at short notice
  • Be able and prepared to contribute actively to wider aspects of the work of the Medicines for Womens Health EAG, including on issues outside of own specialism
  • Be a skilled communicator
  • Possess or be willing to develop a working knowledge and understanding of UK medicines
  • Regulatory framework and procedures
  • Be willing to declare conflicts of interest
  • Maintain strict confidentiality with respect to the work of the EAG
  • Be committed to the values of selflessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, professionalism, impartiality and consistency.

  • Current or previous experience of committee membership(s)
  • Membership or fellowship of relevant Royal Colleges or professional bodies
