Third Church Estates CommissionerChurch Commissioners for EnglandLondon, ENGThe Church Commissioners play an important role in enabling the Church of England’s mission and ministry. Alongside our significant statutory duties and responsibilities for our assets, we work together with colleagues in dioceses and other national Church bodies to create a vision of a hopeful future, of renewal and growth of the Church of England and of the Kingdom of God.The Third Church Estates Commissioner has particular responsibilities in relation to Bishops, Cathedrals, the Mission and Pastoral Measure, and our important Net Zero agenda. The Church of England is currently at a time of significant change and transformation, as the national Church’s governance review progresses towards implementation, and the Third Commissioner will play a key role in ensuring a smooth transition to the new governance arrangements.Flora Winfield has given us highly effective leadership across all these areas, and with her appointment as the Bishop of Selby we are looking for her successor, who will oversee these functions for the final stages of this journey, so we are keen to speak to people with experience of leading change, particularly culture change.
