Working in the Sustainability Team is all about driving the ‘Fashion with Integrity’ element of the ASOS business strategy; from engaging the commercial teams on sustainable products and circular design, to supporting suppliers on their sustainability journey and engaging our customers through marketing and communication. You will support the sustainability team across product and supply chain sustainability and circularity, reporting into the Circularity Partner. Working closely with all the Commercial teams, ASOS own brands and suppliers, driving progress towards both our Fashion With Integrity (FWI) goals.What you’ll be doing…

  • Support the Circularity partner in the development and delivery of ASOS’ own brand circular design strategy; including successful delivery of circular design collections, our circular design tools, policies, training and long term strategy with measurable targets/KPIs.
  • Engage commercial teams (buying, design, merchandising, garment technology, fabric sourcing & technical and chemical compliance) to implement circular design into their product strategies with a view to making consistent improvements against our targets.
  • Support the Circularity partner to implement the circular design due diligence processes and best practices that support the ASOS commercial team and supply chain.
  • Work with suppliers and buying teams to ensure that all sustainable or circular design claims can be verified and are substantiated and ensures that the environmental claims database is well maintained with all environmental claims and supporting evidence.
  • Creating guidelines and deliver bespoke training for key suppliers to support circularity and sustainability projects.
  • Work closely with key suppliers to ensure they understand and embed the circular design strategy and policy. Providing additional support to suppliers on their journey, answering queries and signposting them to information.
  • Be responsible for maintaining and updating key internal & external communication tools such as training tools to ensure they are engaging and efficient.
  • Review and challenge current processes and ways of working to seek improvements to ensure that the sustainability programme is current and fit for purpose.
  • Be a circularity ambassador, support on engagement with external stakeholders, NGOs & events e.g. Textile 2030, Centre For Sustainable Fashion etc.
  • Support on external reporting needs where needed for ASOS Plc website, annual Report, and other reporting as required
  • Able to create reports and analyse data from a variety or systems for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the sustainability team on internal engagement such as preparing updates and presentations for senior leadership.
  • Regularly research and present market intel with industry activities, NGO (non-governmental organisation) activity on environmental matters and emerging industry issues to educate.
  • Manage team admin such as meeting schedules, raising POs, budget management etc.

QualificationsWe’d love to meet, someone who…

  • A background in a Fashion Retail Head Office environment, preferably in a sustainability, buying, design or sourcing related role.
  • Must have a passion for driving change in relation to improving ethical and sustainable practices across the industry
  • Ability to work at pace but with attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple workstreams and meet deadlines
  • Experienced in the use of Microsoft office packages, particularly Excel, word and Powerpoint
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present complex information in a clear manner to a variety of audiences
  • Tenacious individual with a strength for data analysis and problem solving
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Works collaboratively and effectively with others
  • Embraces change with energy and enthusiasm
