Job description
The Finance Directorate at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint to the post of Clerical Officer.
You will work as part of the Faculty Finance Team, supporting the Faculty’s financial reporting requirements by providing relevant accounting information and reports and monitoring progression against agreed budgets.
You will support in the preparation of financial calculations relating to research applications, understanding the funder requirements, and making sure the calculations adhere to the guidelines before submitting to an online portal.
The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following criteria:
- A minimum of 5 GCSE’s at Grade C or above (or equivalent) including English Language and Mathematics or NVQ Level 2 Accounting or equivalent finance-related subject.
- At least three years demonstrable recent work experience, with a minimum of 12 months in a finance role to include:
- Excel experience to include design, manipulation of spreadsheets and the use of formulae & pivot tables.
- Book-keeping or Management / Financial accounting.
- Experience in analysing and interpreting financial data.
- Experience and up to date knowledge of a wide range of IT systems, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
- Experience using large financial systems or databases.
