Applications are invited for the position of Clerical Officer/Receptionist. The post holder will primarily be the first point of contact for the general public, staff, patients, carers who require assistance. A key part of the role is to provide administrative support to the Community Hospital with the successful applicant being based in Deeside Community Hospital.Welsh language Skills need to be learnt within 12 months when appointed to the post.Main duties of the jobThe successful candidate will be highly organised, dedicated to customer care and motivated to deliver a high quality service. There will be a need to work on ones own initiative but also as part of a team.The post holder must have a helpful and pleasant manner with an enthusiasm to do their upmost in achieving a patient’s expectations and requirements, making their clinical journey run as smooth as possible.A flexible approach to this post is essential, as well as superb communications and ample computer skills.   • GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent) in English language or equivalent level of experience
  • IT or word processing qualification (e.g. RSA 2 or equivalent experience)

Desirable

  • ECDL
  • NVQ Level 1 or equivalent in customer service

ExperienceEssential

  • Experience of using a computer system (e.g. GP clinical IT system)
  • Previous experience of working in a reception/office environment
  • Experience of working with the general public

SkillsEssential

  • Ability to input information onto a computer system with accuracy
  • Ability to work in a busy environment, and deal with a number of different tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to communicate tactfully with patients
  • Ability to resolve issues ‘on the spot’ using own judgement
