To help them fulfill their potential.Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone.And we never give up.For every child, Partnerships …The consultancy is based in the Public Partnerships Division (PPD) within the Climate Partnership and Financing team which covers the engagement with public donors while collaboratively engaging with the Public Private Partnerships team (Multilateral Climate Funds) and Private Fundraising and Partnerships (PFP) team (UNICEF National Committees) to leverage public partnerships engagement towards the increase income growth for the Sustainability and Climate Change Action Plan (SCAP) 2023-2030.The consultant will work closely with the Global Lead on Climate Partnerships and Finance to gather evidence and support all areas of resource mobilization engagement as per the PPD/PFP global climate resource mobilization strategy which focuses on the five key global initiatives of the SCAP: 1. Climate-informed risk reduction, humanitarian action, and resilient recovery from disasters 2. Sustainable energy for health-care facilities, schools, and WASH 3. Sustainable WASH services in areas most vulnerable to climate change 4. Pathways for young people to be more effective champions for sustainability 5. Climate-smart social services.Scope of work
- Support drafting and updating key strategic documents and monitor public donors’ engagement on climate.
- Collaborate with the Programme Global Leads on each of the four global initiatives of the Sustainability Climate Action Plan (SCAP).
- Coordinate PPD engagement on the Climate Partnership advocacy and high-level influencing events.
- Collaborate and coordinate monthly SCAP Cafes with Regional Offices.
- Set up and maintain PPD Climate Finance and Partnerships SharePoint.
- Assist in PPD capacity building on climate finance through doing background .
- Collaborate in setting up and managing the climate focused resource mobilization pipeline database.
- Support coordination of public donors’ engagement ahead of and during COP 29.
- Prepare required documentation ahead of SCAP Steering Committee meetings.
- Support donors’ proposal drafting.
- Conceptualise internal knowledge management (and maintain the share point) and expand contents of the climate finance partnerships HUB.
- Contribute and coordinate the quarterly newsletter.
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
- Masters in climate, sustainability, development, human rights, or another relevant field.
- 2 years’ experience of working in relevant field is preferable.
- Proven analysis skills and visualization software.
- Experience in humanitarian and/or development programming.
- Knowledge of climate, environment, and donors’ engagement.
Experience working with UNICEF, or another United Nations agency is preferable and an added advantage. * Fluency in English is required.
