The Central London Outpatient Department is looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and flexible member of staff to join our team as a band 3 Clinic Support Worker.Are you a Health Care Assistant looking to learn more skills and try out some admin work?Are you in admin and looking to try out in the clinical environment?Do you want to experience the buzz of city life and all the benefits such as easy access to shopping, culture and arts.We are looking for a staff member to join us working in a variety of settings as part of a cohesive team.This post involves working daily in and rotating through clinics, treatment areas, reception, medical records and note preparation, with direct patient contact at reception & in the clinical area – guaranteeing every day to be different and interesting.Candidates must be flexible, adaptable and able to work both in a team and independently.Candidates are required to be computer literate as they will be using multiple I.T. services and other trust services as required.As a centre of excellence, we offer a person-centred approach to patient experience.We are well served by public transport with 3 tube stations and bus stops within a few minutes’ walk.Interviews will be held in early November.Main duties of the jobYou will work in 5 different areas:

  • 2 reception desks, greeting patients on arrival, checking in and out and directing to other departments as well as communicating with other areas e.g. transport and interpreting services
  • Running clinics – supporting patients in clinic consultations as well as ensuring clinics run smoothly and solving problems as they arise
  • Medical records – preparing clinic lists in advance and preparing records to ensure all test results etc are available for appointments
  • Treatment rooms – you will support the registered nurses by carrying out pre-operative screening and taking bloods after successfully completing training
