  • Post Graduate qualification in Medical Ultrasound

Desirable

  • To hold a BSc Hons degree or DCR in Diagnostic Radiography
  • Current and up to date state registration through HCPC
  • MSc in Medical Ultrasound
  • Managerial qualification

ExperienceEssential

  • Substantial experience in ultrasound imaging post qualification
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Experience of post graduate teaching
  • Experience in scanning A&E and inpatients

Desirable

  • Undertaking appraisal practices
  • Training in vascular ultrasound
  • Attendance of a clinical supervisor course
  • Managing a budget
  • Writing business cases and policies
  • Demonstrable operational management experience in the health service
  • Experience in undertaking recruitment drives

Knowledge & SkillsEssential

  • An up to date knowledge of current and emerging ultrasound techniques and relevant topics / professional issues
  • Knowledge of current policies and legislation affecting service delivery
  • A good understanding of clinical governance and risk management

  • Participation experience of NHS leadership programs
