The Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) Nursing Education is looking for a Clinical Nurse Educator to join our team in the Emergency Department. As a Clinical Nurse Educator in the Emergency Department, you will play a pivotal role as a hands-on clinical resource and mentor to staff. In addition, you are responsible for assessing nursing competence and supporting continuous improvement guided by standards of care and best practices. Nurse educators are not only responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs but will continue to assess and mitigate risk through clinical practice rounding and just-in-time education. The Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible for promoting best practices through staff development and education to ensure optimal patient outcomes in accordance with the guidelines set by NVRH, Vermont Board of Nursing, Regulatory Agencies, and known best practice. The key responsibility of the Clinical Nurse Educator in consultation with the department Director is to meet the educational needs of the nurses in the organization, by supporting nursing at the bedside as a leader in patient care delivery.

What you’ll do day to day:

  • Orient new nurses and provide clinical support and ongoing education of nurses of Emergency Department clinical staff
  • Develop and manage mandatory education and assess clinical competencies of nurses
  • Identify and respond to the learning needs of individuals and evaluate the effectiveness of education within the organization

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, at least three years’ work experience in an Emergency Room as an RN and current VT or multi state RN license
  • BLS (through AHA), ACLS, PALS, NRP and ENCP/TNCC required
