Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) is seeking a Clinical Nurse Educator to join the team! The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) for the Medical-Surgical Unit will enhance the nursing staff’s clinical skills and knowledge. The CNE will develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs that improve patient outcomes and promote evidence-based practice. This role requires a strong clinical background in medical-surgical nursing, excellent communication skills, and a passion for teaching and mentoring. As the CNE, you will promote best practices through staff development and education, ensuring optimal patient outcomes per the guidelines set by NVRH, the Vermont Board of Nursing, Regulatory Agencies, and known best practices.To thrive in this role, you must have excellent communication and organizational skills and a desire to provide clinical education. In addition, you must have a minimum of three to five years of clinical experience in a Med/Surg setting. Previous experience in nursing education, training, or clinical instruction is preferred.What you’ll do day-to-day:

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs and materials for nursing staff in the Medical-Surgical Unit.
  • Conduct orientation and ongoing training for new and existing staff, focusing on clinical skills, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership to identify learning needs and create targeted educational initiatives.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices to enhance nursing care and improve patient outcomes.
  • Assess and evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs through feedback, competency assessments, and performance evaluations.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for nursing staff, providing guidance and support in clinical decision-making.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and committees related to nursing education and patient care.
  • Stay current with nursing trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure the highest quality of education and care.
