Clinical Nurse Manager (Part-time)About Silverstream:Carrying out a range of duties to ensure that we provide a quality, person centred care environment for all residents. The CNM will work on the floor and assist in supervision of all staff and will be responsible for performance management and ongoing staff training. The CNM will demonstrate managerial and leadership skills and facilitate effective communication with colleagues in the nursing home.About the roleRoles & Responsibilities:The CNM is responsible for the maintenance of a high standard of patient care which is achieved through professional education and development of all nursing staff, acting as an expert practitioner, managing resources, and facilitating communication.The CNM will manage Nursing and Healthcare Assistants on their team.Ensure the staff allocation is adhered to and that the correct mic of skill and experience is taken into consideration.Be responsible for the supervision of and development of the nursing team and to take an active part in the delivery of care as appropriate.Manage the assigned unit taking responsibility for the safe delivery and co-ordination of nursing services for patients, ensuring effective, efficient, and quality specialist nursing care service.Provide clinical and management leadership for Staff Nurse positions.Facilitate effective communication with patients, relatives, visitors, and multi-disciplinary teams as necessary and ensure patient confidentiality is respected and maintained at all times.Ensure that the residents’ register is kept updated for all admissions and transfers.Ensure that assessments are completed and entered the care plans for new admissions.Lead family meetings to ensure that residents’ needs are met in this regard.Ensure that end-of-life wishes are documented for all residents.Assist with the coordination of Allied Health Professional reviews, e.g. SALT, TVN, Dietician.Ensure all incidents are following up in files and care plans.Ensure that all residents are reviewed by the GP every three months.Adhere to Silver Stream guidelines, policies, and procedures.Maintain a safe working environment as set out in the Health and Safety at Work Act.Respect confidential information obtained in the course of professional practice.Skills and Experience Required:The CNM must be registered in the general division of the Register of Nurses maintained by An Bord Altranais.Have at least three years recent relevant post-registration nursing experience in a nursing home environment and preferably a minimum of three years nursing experience in senior nursing / team leader role.A recognised post-registration nursing course in gerontology would be a distinct advantage.Proven clinical and professional management ability, clinical audit, and excellent leadership and communication skills.Competence in the use of information technology.Key Competencies:Experience of/with people with additional and/or complex needsExcellent organisational skills, self-motivated and self-starterExcellent verbal and communication skillsWillingness to learn and work as part of a multi departmental teamDedicated, reliability and flexible approach to workAbility to set high personal standards of performance and delivery of desired resultsExcellent problem solving and decision-making skillsAbility to work on your own initiativeResponsible and mature approach to workAbout the companySilver Stream Healthcare Group, established in 1993, is a leading Irish provider of residential care services.
