Job Description:Title: Community Clinical Nurse Specialist – Prisons LeadSalary: Marie Curie Pay Scale, aligned with AFC band 7 £43,742- £50,056 per annum + enhancements depending on experienceHours: Part time 30 hours per weekContract: PermanentBased: West Midlands , Hospice, SolihullClosing date: 23rd April 2024Interview date: TBCThis is an exciting post within Marie Curie as we expand our specialist care and support to people with palliative and end of life care needs in Prison settings across the Midlands. As the Community Clinical Nurse Specialist – Prisons Lead, you’ll be instrumental in developing and shaping this service. The key aim will be to improve identification of patients with palliative and end of life care needs by providing a programme of education and training for prison staff. This approach will have an impact on increasing access to palliative/end of life care and support within prison settings, enhancing the health and well-being of individuals and the care they receive. We seek a dedicated individual to join us in making a positive impact on people in custodial settings. The post-holder will need to live within the Midlands Place Base, be able to travel across the area.Marie Curie Benefits Package:

  • Registered Nurse with a passion for palliative care
  • Principles and practice of specialist palliative care
  • Good knowledge of professional accountability and responsibility and the limitations of the role
  • Recent/current experience in Specialist Palliative Care and Caseload Management
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a challenging environment
  • Strong communication and training skills
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and sharing best practices
