Holter and event recorder fitting – Including analysis, performing 12 lead ECG, 24hour BP, and to participate as the second person during physiologist led ETT / provide technical support to Cardiologists performing medically supervised ETT.To effectively manage own workload, and actively work with the other team members to efficiently support service needs.To assist with the provision of education, training, and development for all aspects of the service in collaboration with multi-professional groups.To provide clinical expertise and bring innovation and in cardiac diagnostic investigations.To work co-operatively and collaboratively with members of other professions and disciplines, helping to ensure ensuring the provision of a progressive learning environment for all staff involved with Cardiac Diagnostics.Participate in regular audit, and R&D activity.To always maintain professionalism, acting as a role model to junior staff and trainees.Main duties of the jobECG interpretation – This forms the foundation for the majority of the tests performed.To provide clear, accurate and factual reports to clinicians on all investigations undertaken, these will be used for diagnosis and to guide medical / surgical management of the patient’s conditionMaintain continued professional development, update skills and knowledge.Engage in training and develop skills and knowledge, in line with the service needs as the department expands and implement new servicesBe flexible and adaptable to changes in service needs.Participate in the ‘7-day week’ working rota to meet service needsTo implement and manage the cardiac arrest procedure and life support including defibrillation in appropriate situationsPerform duties for prolonged periods of time and in stressful circumstances, including unpleasant and emergency situationsAlways maintain patient safety and dignity, being respectful to cultural differences and diversity.To ensure safe and appropriate use of expensive, specialist and highly sensitive equipment, reporting faults or damages without delay.To maintain accurate patient records in both electronic and written format.To submit and maintain activity data using manual and electronic means in line with Trust and departmental policies.About usThere’s never been a more exciting time to join TeamQEH.   • Human physiology based degree
  • BSc(Hons) in cardiac physiology/cardiac science or PTP equivalent
  • SCST Certificate in Electrocardiography or equivalent (training will be provide if currently not held)
  • SCST Foundation Certificate in Essential ECG Interpretation or equivalent (training will be provide if currently not held)
  • RCCP/AHCS registered

Desirable

  • Diploma in ECG Interpretation

ExperienceEssential

  • Competent in performing all cardiac investigations provided by the department

Desirable

  • Experience performing cardiac diagnostics post qualification
  • Experience in training and assessment of junior staff and other medical professionals

Skills, abilities and knowledgeEssential

  • Ability to organize and analyse data with good critical thinking skills
  • Good computer skills
  • Able to keep up with workload and deliver results in a timely manner

  • Actively participates in the department training programme
  • Knowledge of a wide range of cardiac physiology investigations
