As a member of the Sunny Hill Administration Team, the Clinical Technology Assistant is responsible for implementing and maintaining clinically relevant technology for the professionals at Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children. This position supports clinical technology requests and manages the details of the technology, including but not limited to maintaining an iPad network, maintaining computers that are not part of the PHSA network and assisting in the implementation of new clinical technologies that aid clinicians and their work with children with special needs.What you’ll do
- Provides technical support and problem solving regarding computer hardware, software and electronic device issues by responding to system, communications and user problems related to existing systems and applications that are not part of the PHSA network such as MS Windows 7, MacOSX, Android hardware and operating systems and IOS; analyses, diagnoses problems, formulates solutions and takes corrective action using site or vendor provided utilities according to established procedures; refers problems as required.
- Installs, configures modifies and tests non-standard computer hardware such as Mac server, laptops, tablets and other peripheral equipment. Installs and tests software according to established procedures. Refers problems as required.
- Gathers information and feedback from user departments, provides technical advice, and participates in the planning, development and recommendation of specifications for hardware and software upgrades.
- Performs preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of videoconference systems including software by performing duties such as testing, cleaning equipment, and ensuring that software release levels are maintained and kept up to date. As required, coordinates with IMITS and telehealth staff.
- Maintains loan library for children with special needs by organizing and coordinating servicing library equipment for loan including equipment such as tablets, computer peripherals and other connected devices.
- Provides training to users in the use of hardware and software and prepares instructional material. Identifies and recommends alternatives, preferred solutions, standard configurations, and efficiency improvements in the use of computer systems.
- Develops technical support procedures for areas such as hardware/software installation, testing and systems; provides technical expertise and participates in planning for the installation of new/revised application systems and coordinates the activities relating to the installation of hardware and software specific to systems implementations.
- Plans and participates in all new evaluation trials.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
What you bringQualifications
- Grade 12, graduation from a recognized two year computer systems technology diploma program, plus three years’ recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Ability to type.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.

Wage:Salary Range: $(insert minimum)-$(insert maximum) /year. The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate’s relevant education and experience, and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan. Salary will be prorated accordingly for part time roles.
