OverviewWe’re looking for a co-op student to join our Marketing department for 4 months to assist us with the management of our digital and print content to make sure it aligns with organizational goals and meets user needs effectively. In this role, you’ll work closely with the resource development team to evaluate digital and print materials through auditing existing content in order to identify gaps and improvements needed. Content strategy draws on and develops skills in research, analysis, organization, writing and editing, and problem-solving – all highly transferable skills in today’s job market. This position will offer training and hands-on experience in content strategy, audit processes, and data analysis while working with a dynamic team in a public sector organization.Part of the Experience, Communication, Marketing and Insights department, we partner with other divisions to understand and help meet the needs of our stakeholders and our employees. Beginning with research, our Experience and Insights teams develop plans with experience at the heart of their analysis and approach. Our Marketing and Communications teams collaborate to develop effective strategies encompassing channels, messaging, outreach, resources, and campaigns. These strategies are tested, revised, and implemented with an effective measurement plan in place, to enable continuous learning.If you are interested in applying your talents and knowledge to support workers’ health and safety and gain valuable experience, we want to hear from you.This is a four-month long temporary opportunity starting January 2025.How you’ll make a difference: You’ll apply what you’ve learned in your post-secondary program to benefit workers and employers across B.C.Where you’ll workAt WorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines the convenience of working remotely with the dynamism of working in one of our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.In this role, you’ll work primarily from your B.C. home and be on-site in our Richmond office at a minimum of twice per week.What you’ll doOn Day 1 in this role, you will get a chance to meet your manager and get acquainted with your team. You will spend time setting up administrative and technological essentials, and completing onboarding tasks, including security and payroll setup.During your first week you will engage in a comprehensive onboarding program designed to equip you for success. You will be partnering and meeting with your manager to discuss your goals and align them with the team’s vision. Additionally, you will learn how our department contributes to the overall business strategy and supports the organization’s mandate. You will also work through the onboarding program alongside your supervisor for added guidance and support
- Conduct and maintain detailed content inventories for digital and print assets using Excel. Familiarity with advanced features, such as data formulas and pivot tables, is a plus but not mandatory.
- Liaise with content owners and subject matter experts during content audits, in order to assess the content with regards to user analytics, purpose, accuracy, usability, accessibility, and alignment with brand standards.
- Analyze content data to identify trends, usage patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare project updates, summary reports, and insights to share with your manager and team.
- Organize and maintain project documentation and deliverables within a SharePoint team site.

Your background and experience
- Currently a 3rd or 4th year student, enrolled in a relevant program (e.g., communications, information management, data analytics, or related field).
- Proven analytical and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Experience or interest in using SharePoint (training can be provided).
- Previous co-op or related experience is an asset.
