Are you driven by making a difference to people’s lives and motivated to support development and growth within a commercial environment?We are looking for an experienced Bladder and Bowel Nurse with the relevant clinical skills, who has the passion, drive, and commitment to develop and deliver a new Neurogenic Bladder and Bowel service in Greater Manchester, in collaboration with our NHS partners.We are looking for an experienced nurse who can work as an independent practitioner, is self-motivated and has a winning mindset. They need to be a strategic thinker, who wants to build on their commercial awareness and who has the confidence and courage to challenge, whilst seeking solutions.This role is full time (5 days per week- Monday to Friday) and will involve a mixture of patient interactions in clinic and home visits within the Greater Manchester community area, as well as developing the new service.The new Greater Manchester Neurogenic Bladder and Bowel service provides a specialist nursing Assessment, treatment and management for adults experiencing bladder and bowel dysfunction.   • Deliver Professional and Ethical care to patients
  • Implement and evaluate the new Neurogenic Bladder and Bowel service in line with the agreed pathway
  • Run community-based clinics and provide home visits if required, based on patient need
  • Be able to teach patients, carers and HCP’s in bladder and bowel management (ISC and anal irrigation)
  • Apply specialist, analytical and judgement skills to assess acute and chronic continence conditions taking appropriate action to meet patient’s needs
  • Effectively and efficiently plan, manage, and organise caseload and time
  • Communicate effectively and provide feedback to patients / carers and referring Healthcare professionals
  • Clinical consultations undertaken as per professional and company Guidelines
  • Maintain clinical records in accordance with Company, Legal and Professional requirements
  • Instigate working practices to ensure collaborative working between different stakeholders e.g., acute and community health care teams
  • Generate and maintain effective working relationships with health care professionals across the Region
  • Deliver educational support to fellow health care professionals
  • Monitoring activity against service Key Performance Indicators
  • Develop clinical standards and policies for the new service
  • Develop Clinical Governance framework for the new service in line with NHS and Coloplast requirements
  • Collect and report on patient and service outcomes data
  • Undertake service audit/evaluation activities

Essential requirements –

  • Registered General Nurse- currently on the NMC register
  • Nursing Degree qualification- highly desirable
  • Nurse Prescriber qualification- highly desirable
  • Expert clinician in Continence management is essential, including supporting male and female patients with catheterisation
  • Good interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Project or service management experience
  • Teaching experience
  • IT proficiency
