You will need to have experience and/or be trained in the following areas:

  • Enteral feeding: RIG/PEG/J/MicKey pump
  • Medication administration
  • Oral suctioning
  • Manual handling (using hoists)
  • Dystonia

Additionally, proficiency in Makaton or British Sign Language (BSL) is desirable, but not mandatory.The client you will be supporting has some understanding of verbal communication but prefers supplementary methods like Makaton or BSL. They have a cheerful disposition and enjoy calm activities like watching television and participating in gentle exercises, such as stretching or rolling on floor mats. Patience, flexibility, and compassion are key to providing the personal care they deserve.Supporting YouAt Sonderwell, we don’t just focus on care; we focus on building relationships. You’ll receive online and classroom training specific to complex care needs and the opportunity to study for a relevant NVQ.You may work independently or as part of a team depending on the client’s needs.
