Requisition ID: 203506Join a purpose driven winning team, committed to results, in an inclusive and high-performing culture.PurposeContributes to the success of the Canadian Banking Compliance (CBC) Program, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed and delivered in support of business strategies and objectives.Performs monitoring activities across multiple Canadian Banking business lines/units to support the CBC Monitoring Team in identifying and reporting on areas of Compliance Risk.AccountabilitiesChampions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.Supports the CBC Monitoring Program deliver on monitoring deliverables related to Sales Practices & Conduct and Complaint Handling within the Canadian Bank. This includes completing monitoring activities on the Escalated Customer Concerns Office (ECCO), the Tangerine Client Response Group (CRG), the Customer Concerns Appeals Office (CCAO), and the Canadian Banking Operating Practices teams (collectively “CB Stakeholders”), ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory obligations and reporting requirements. Specific activities include:Attending meetings with CB Stakeholders, contributing to discussions around regulatory requirements, Bank processes and/or policies, as well as monitoring results and associated guidance.Providing support on reportable complaints submissions to the FCAC and AMFAssisting with data reviews and structuringCompleting call monitoring reviewsPerforms monitoring activities to identify patterns, gaps, themes and/or trends in compliance controls that may indicate weaknesses and potential riskPerforms ad-hoc, unique and/or focused monitoring reviews as necessary; and other duties and projects as assigned.Strengthens relationships with stakeholders and business partners for the purposes of creating an integrated risk framework and enhancing business-line effectiveness.Assists in sustaining the CBC Monitoring program, maintaining relevant documentation.Contributes to strategies and initiatives with an objective of continuous improvement/evolution.Develops and maintains strong knowledge of Bank processes, policies, procedures, applications, and products.Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.Education/Experience2+ years of experience in financial servicesPost-secondary education, preferable in Business Administration, Accounting, or FinanceHighly motivated; demonstrated ability to multi-task and deliver in a fast-paced, challenging, and dynamic business environmentStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong analytical skills, ability to focus on critical issuesStrong knowledge of Scotiabank policies and procedures, system applications, operations, support functions, and complaint resolution standardsThorough knowledge of Canadian Banking regulationsThorough knowledge of Canadian Banking delivery channels, products, and servicesAbility to develop strong working relationships with partners/stakeholdersLocation(s): Canada : Ontario : TorontoScotiabank is a leading bank in the Americas.
