Edit Farsi Translation of Inclusive Education Booklets and Education in Emergencies Documents

Background
The Education Unit has planned to edit Farsi translation of Guidelines in the areas of Inclusive Education and Education in Emergencies. The overarching objective is to produce high quality Farsi documents in the areas of the Education section work to be used by partners and NGOs and optimize the impact of educational initiatives.
Objectives:
The primary objectives of the editing service for Farsi translated text include:
1. Clarity and Precision: Ensure that the content is clear, concise, and precise, allowing for easy understanding by a diverse audience.
2. Grammar and Syntax: Correct grammatical errors and improve sentence structure to enhance the overall readability and professionalism of the material.
3. Consistency: Ensure consistency in terminology, style, and formatting throughout the document to present a polished and cohesive piece of work.
4. Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough quality checks to identify and rectify any errors or inconsistencies that may compromise the overall quality and credibility of the material.
5. Target Audience Suitability: Tailor the language and content to suit the needs and understanding of the target audience including educators, civil society actors, and policymakers.
Deliverables:
Edit Farsi translation of the below documents:
- Inclusive Education Booklets 1 to 14: 2 months
- Guide Note on Teacher Wellbeing in Emergency Settings (INEE), Learning to earning’ for displaced youth and Guidance Note on Supporting Integrated Child Protection and Education Programming in Humanitarian Action: 1 months.

Qualifications of the Successful Contractor:
The Editor should meet the following qualifications and requirements:
- Demonstrated expertise and experience in Edit services, preferably in the field of Education
- Proficiency in the source language(s).
- Familiarity with educational terminology, policies, and guidelines in the target language(s)
Terms of Payment/Remuneration:
Calculation of Words:
The word count for each project will be determined based on the source document. The total number of words will be calculated using industry-standard software or tools.
Payment Calculation:
The total payment for a specific edit project will be calculated by multiplying the number of words translated by the rate per word.
Total words: 250,518
Invoicing and Payment Terms:
The editor will submit an invoice at the completion of each deliverable, indicating the total word count and the corresponding payment amount. Invoices should be submitted promptly, preferably within 15 days (about 2 weeks) of project completion.
Payment Schedule:
Payment will be made within 30 days (about 4 and a half weeks) of receipt and approval of the invoice. The payment will be made via the agreed-upon method, such as bank transfer, PayPal, or any other mutually acceptable payment method.
Currency:
The payment will be made in Iranian Rials (IRR) unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
