We are seeking to appoint dynamic and enthusiastic candidates to the position Consultant for the Enfield Community Paediatric Service.All applicants are required to have substantial clinical experience in Community Paediatrics and they should have relevant experience in the clinical management of children including those with neuro-developmental, emotional, behavioural and attachment difficulties, child protection, and adult health issues pertinent to parenting.Although this post is advertised as full time in the first instance, we would welcome enquiries and applications from part time applicants. This is a permanent post within the Trust.Please note this role is an on-site position with face to face clinics in the community setting. Administrative duties can be agreed to be worked off-site in agreement with departmental service needs and plansWe have a busy, dedicated paediatric child development service seeing hundred’s of children in the local community of Enfield. The CDT is fully integrated with psychology, allied health professionals and nursing staff, based at Cedar House and within other community settings. The successful candidate will join a team of 5 Paediatric Consultants/Specialist Doctors and will undertake work in Community Paediatrics, Child Development Team (CDT).Main duties of the jobAll doctors are expected to contribute to the Child Development Team service delivery as a unified team and participate on a rotational basis to delivering services not viewed as their lead role, in order to prevent gaps in services and maintain professional knowledge and skills in the specialist area of Community Paediatrics. This includes participation on weekday/daytime roster for Child Protection Medical Examinations and regular scheduled clinics for Initial Health Assessments as part of our Looked After Children provision. The post holder will also be required to cover colleagues as and when necessary during planned or unplanned leave of absence.The services have recently transferred to North Middlesex University Hospital and the Community Paediatric Consultants team is currently re-establishing itself.Enfield Borough has a multi-ethnic population with a high index of deprivation.   • Full MRCP or equivalent
  • Eligible for full GMC registration and licence to practice.
  • MRCP, MRCPCH or equivalent.

  • Has achieved the competencies relating to General Paediatric Training, usually after 2 years of General Professional Training in Paediatrics
