What will your typical day look like?
The Opportunity: Our long established Sustainability practice is looking to continually grow, innovate, and offer quality and insights to our clients. We are looking for a technically strong, experienced and motivated Senior Consultant, who wants to be part of a successful business that is constantly setting new standards for distinction.
As a Senior Consultant and a member of our team, you will:
- Work with our Partners to lead our GHG/Climate practice with a specific focus on climate change services / GHG accounting, strategy and related Net Zero targets and program implementation
- Lead the delivery of successful client engagements in GHG/Climate and in many areas of services offered by Deloitte’s Sustainability practice, managing diverse projects with multi-disciplinary and integrated teams, at times remotely
- Lead internal and external business development, the development of new service offerings and thought leadership initiatives
- Manage client and key stakeholder’s expectations to help build and foster long-term relationships, including delivering exceptional project management
- Work in a collaborative and highly diverse team environment analyzing client issues and developing solutions
- Lead the development and presentation of materials to clients and the broader marketplace
- Pursue a professional leadership and personal growth plan, including an industry and technical learning plan, to develop relevant solutions and stay abreast of market and industry developments
- Motivate and support the development of junior team members for the advancement of their professional careers

Enough about us, let’s talk about you
We are looking for exceptional and articulate candidates with the following skills, qualifications, and experiences:
- Previous professional services / consulting experience within a reputable firm and/or within a leading international agency with a specific emphasis on GHG/climate emissions
- 1+ years of experience in GHG/Climate with significant emphasis on GHG emissions inventory development, target setting, monitoring and selecting GHG abatement options
- 1+ years of experience in a professional services environment leading the delivery of consulting engagements and leading clients / junior staff through delivery
- Relevant work experience over the prescribed years include the following:
- GHG inventory development
- Developing GHG reduction strategies including establishing targets, supporting business case and application of related carbon reduction frameworks / standards (SBTI, etc.)
- Application of related carbon / GHG frameworks and standards (ISO 14064, WRI GHG Protocol, etc.) to develop and estimate carbon footprints, baseline years and addressing annual changes in enterprise portfolios
- Participation in supporting carbon assurance projects and / or leading carbon assurance engagements (ideal, but not mandatory)
- Undergraduate degree in related subject area such as engineering, climate science (combined with work experience)
- Complementary graduate degree (MBA, MSc, MA) in a related area as outlined above is an asset
- Comfort with combining both qualitative and quantitative analysis to solve business problems
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver commitments on time and budget
- Attention to detail and commitment to deliver high-quality work products
- Ability and experience to coach, counsel, and guide clients and junior staff
- Impeccable verbal and written communication skills in English; French and Spanish an asset
- Advanced skills in PowerPoint, Excel and data analytics tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, GIS software) desired.
- A willingness to travel (20% of total time) within Canada, the United States and, on selected occasions, overseas, if required
