We are looking to appoint to a Whole-Time Consultant with Specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Gynaecological Oncology to Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust based at the Jessop Wing of the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.We would welcome applications from candidates across the full spectrum of experience, from those who have recently completed training to those who have well-established careers.Any candidate who is unable for personal reasons to work full-time will be eligible to be considered for the post; if such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis with the Trust in consultation with consultant colleagues.Should any further vacancies arise shortlisted applicants will be considered.Main duties of the jobThe appointee will, together with Consultant colleagues be responsible for the provision of a Comprehensive Gynaecological Oncology Service. They will be required to cover for colleagues during periods of absence and will have continuing responsibility for patients in Their care and the proper functioning of the department.The successful candidate will work according to the terms and conditions of the national consultant contract.About usLocated on rolling hills and dissected by river valleys, Sheffield is one of the greenest and most wooded cities in Europe. - Name on the specialist register for relevant specialty or eligible within 6 months of the date of the interview
- If an applicant is UK trained, they must also be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview.
- CCT in Obs and Gynae and subspecialty training in Gynaecological Oncology
- MRCOG Postgraduate professional qualification
