Job Description Summary The GE Aviation Consulting Engineer / Technologist leads projects and initiatives with broad scope and high impact to the business or is a recognized expert in a specialized field.In this role you will be responsible for major and complex assignments with long-term business implications, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, and contribute to the overall business strategy. See GE Aviation Engineering Handbook EH-1.1.11 Controlled Titles for additional detailJob DescriptionRoles and ResponsibilitiesAs the Consulting Engineer, you will:

  • Serve as a recognized technical expert in a design discipline, components or component systems, and provides consultation to management, all design organizations, and supplier organizations
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experience engineers
  • Develop and implement training modules in certification as necessary.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and present outcomes to business leaders around part certification.
  • Serve as a recognized leader in defining the state of the art in own technical specialty to anticipate, develop and apply technology to current and future business opportunities.
  • Participate, present and/or review in technical and program reviews from certification point of view.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science from an accredited college or university
  • Required at least 8 years in the technical function
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
