Continuous Improvement ManagerKemsley (Onsite)DS Smith Paper have an exciting opportunity for a Continuous Excellence Manager to join the team at our Kemsley site. Working closely with the Operations Excellence Director, Area Operations Managers and the Engineering Managers, this role will be responsible for coordinating Continuous Improvement activity across the site and will work as part of the site Leadership team.As our Continuous Improvement Manager, you will lead the deployment of the DS Smith Way Continuous Improvement Programme and be responsible for embedding this methodology across the site. You will develop and support site continuous improvement Practitioners and delivering CI training across the site.
As well as working closely with the Site team you will also work closely with the wider Operations Excellence team, contributing to building on the DS Smith Way Programme. You’ll be able to demonstrate the implementation and tracking of Site Performance & Waste KPI’s, producing monthly and yearly reports.Role Responsibilities:
- Experience of implementing Continuous Improvement initiatives in a Manufacturing or FMCG environment
- Good problem-solving experience and knowledge, supported by certified process improvement methodology, Six Sigma for example
- Knowledge in KPI Report Generation
- Excellent persuasion skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels
- Leadership characteristics, and the ability to drive change in challenging environment
- Experience of working in a manufacturing production environment
Person Specification:
- Practical experience of Lean Operational Development
- Practical experience of building people capability within an Operational Environment
- Ability to engage at all levels & in all areas of the business
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal & written
- Pro-active and self-motivated
- Drive for results
