Job Description

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the Co-ordinator, Capital Planning and Leasing, the Contract Analyst provides administrative support to the department, and is responsible for preparing all department contracts for leased site support services (e.g. janitorial, repairs/maintenance, renovations) and for professional/consulting services as required.

Travel may be a requirement of this position. Transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of the Vancouver Island Health Authority in accordance with the service assignment and may require the use of a personal vehicle; and Valid BC Driver’s License.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Training And Experience

Graduation from a recognized business, health, or public administration program and five to seven years related work experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Skills And Abilities

  • Demonstrated leadership ability and highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in managing complex health care programs and working in a fast-paced and public environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to client focused services and teamwork with direct experience working collaboratively and effectively with programs.
  • Ability to integrate administrative, professional and operational aspects of the department throughout Island Health in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Demonstrated financial management and analysis skills.
