Job description
Posted On: Apr 10, 2024ControllerRecruitment Partners is currently seeking an experienced Controller to join our client’s team in Calgary. A successful candidate will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all operational accounting functions and will add value and gain efficiencies through continual improvements.Your success will be defined by your ability to:
- Manage cash flow forecast and process weekly bank reconciliations
- Prepare monthly financial reporting for leadership team and advisory board
- Oversee monthly and year end financial close processes
- Process EFTs
- Manage company’s credit cards
- Monitor accounts payable and receivables including collections
- Prepare GST/PST returns
- Issue monthly dividends
- Prepare and process corporate tax installments and balances with CRA and IRS
- Prepare ROEs and handle all the Service Canada requests
- Prepare and submit US and Canadian payroll
- Prepare quarterly tax returns for US government
- Lead annual employees’ benefits renewals
- Review RFPs and work closely with insurance brokers to ensure coverage
- Provide weekly scorecard to the operations team
- Ensure all the corporate filings are completed
- Work closely with law team in USA and Canada to ensure legal compliance
- Prepare and reconcile all paperwork for the incoming and departing shareholders.
- Prepare Board financial reports and present them to the executive team on a quarterly basis
- Lead corporate restructuring
- Propose process improvements in Finance and Operations
- Maintain relationships with external stakeholders
Your strengths include:
- CPA designation with 5-10 years relevant experience including 3 years in a management role
- A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Technical ability and willingness to learn new systems
- Proven ability to supervise, mentor and provide guidance
