This role’s duties will require planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. Your responsibilities in this role

– Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques

– Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operation

– Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management

– Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

– Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required

– Ensure deliverables of self and team meet client expectations

– Comfortable in taking on tasks beyond formal job responsibilities

– Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

– Produce timely monthly financial reports

– Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

– Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis

– CPA designation is required
– Must have a minimum of 8 years of finance and accounting experience 3 years at the Manager Level.
– Recent distribution or manufacturing experience is required
– Prior experience working in an SMB Small Medium Sized Business is also important, being hands on and strategic at the same time.
– Strong leadership and relationship-building skills
– Experience supervising and mentoring junior accounting staff.
– Excellent command of the English language (both verbal and written)
– Strong interpersonal and effective communication skills are required as this position interacts with individuals throughout the organization.
