Job description
The Controller will lead the Accounting & Finance function of this global organization, overseeing a team of 10+ and reporting to the VP of Finance & CFO.
- Financial Management & Reporting: Oversight of accounting operations (general ledger, financial reporting, multi-currency). Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal policies.
- Grant & Donor Financial Management: Ensure financial compliance with donor requirements. Oversee proper allocation of restricted/unrestricted funds.
- Internal Controls & Risk Management: Design and monitor internal controls. Identify and mitigate financial risks.
- Audit & Compliance: Lead internal/external audits, including OMB A-133 and Form 990. Implement process improvements based on audit findings.
- Cash Flow & Liquidity Management: Manage organizational cash flow, liquidity, and foreign exchange exposure.
- Team Leadership: Lead a team of 13, including 4 direct reports, across multiple countries.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate financial matters to internal and external stakeholders. Support cross-departmental strategic initiatives.
- Special Areas: Oversee investment portfolio and post-retirement fund accounting. Ensure compliance with non-resident alien taxation.

- CPA ideally, may be open to CMA, ACCA, or CIMA
- Global NFP/NGO experience
- Multi-currency accounting
- Grant/donor compliance
- ~10 years in a Controller role
- Experience leading teams of ~10+
- Advanced Excel and ERP/reporting tool experience (ideally Oracle but open)
