JOB SUMMARY

The Conveyor and Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing the automated conveyor system in the local warehouse to ensure that the daily process flow is maintained. Maintenance duties such as repairs and equipment inspections may also be assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties as assigned.

  • Develop and maintain maintenance procedures and processes.
  • Perform routine inspections on conveyor, components, and other equipment as required.
  • Plan, assist, and oversee repair and installation activities.
  • Generate and maintain reports and logs for all repairs, maintenance, activities.
  • Work in a manner that promotes efficient handling and minimizes waste.
  • Participate in Company sponsored training and process improvement activities.
  • Comply with all Company Policies as defined in the Company’s Warehouse Orientation Packet.
  • Pursue continuous improvement through training and process improvement.
  • Comply with all applicable elements of the Company’s Quality Management System.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Must have attention to detail.

Requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior warehouse experience preferred, but not required.
  • Previous warehouse experience a plus.
  • Conveyor systems and related equipment experience.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • To perform the position, you much be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR. ITAR defines a US Person as a US Citizen, US Permanent Resident (I.e., ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
  • PLL knowledge
  • Knowledge of electrical and electronic components.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to safety.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and techniques.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safety and properly.
  • Ability to use electronic devices such as barcode scanners for material pulling and material put away.
  • Basic computer and math skills. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to learn & perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced team environment.

*Position may require operating motor vehicles such as turret trucks, waves, forklifts, or packing machines. On the job training and certifications will be provided.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients, co-workers, and customers. Must possess mobility to work in a standard warehouse setting and work with and around a variety of equipment, parts, and inventory, strength, stamina, and mobility to perform medium physical work; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone or radio. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator. Positions in this classification bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb to perform work. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds and heavier weights with the proper equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • This position is exposed to large moving equipment, including motorized pallet jacks, forklifts, lift trucks, and conveyor belts.
  • The facility is equipped with both air condition and heat.
  • This facility is a clean and safe work environment. Facility is cleaned and disinfected per CDC guidelines for COVID-19 prevention.
