Job Description:OverviewDirects operations and ensures professional nursing care is provided on weekends, holidays, and evening/night shifts. Provides structure and support to clinical leaders, unit staff, and other health care professionals while ensuring provision of age appropriate care for patients and families. The Nurse Coordinator provides leadership support to achieve the organization’s mission of excellent patient care and nursing’s vision of setting a new standard of excellence in autonomous and accountable nursing practice committed to patient advocacy and innovative patient care in a climate of trust and collaboration.
QualificationsMinimum Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in nursing required, master’s degree in nursing preferred. Current staff without BSN must obtain degree as contracted by the VP/DON. National nursing board certification in specialty area required. Current staff without national nursing board certification in specialty area must obtain certification as contracted by the VP/DON. Minimum two years professional nursing practice experience with demonstrated clinical skills. Evidence of leadership and management skills, including staffing patterns and resource utilization. Knowledgeable of patient care delivery models, staffing targets, care coordination, and quality improvement processes.Motor Vehicle Operator Designation: Employees in this position: Will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose NOTE: A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his/her personal or Shands automobile a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job.Licensure/Certification/Registration: Licensed as Registered Nurse in the State of Florida.
