Job Summary:

Xavier University of Louisiana invites applications for the position of Coordinator of Pre-Collegiate and Summer Bridge Programs/Academic Advisor. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
Xavier University of Louisiana Pre-Collegiate and Summer Bridge Programs provides middle school, high school, and newly admitted college students with opportunities to enrich their academic and social development in the world’s most fascinating city. Participants are able to explore areas of interest on a deeper level through in-class discussions, laboratory experiences and cultural explorations. As part of the learning experience at Xavier, students can enhance their educational foundation and get a jump start on college life.
The Coordinator of Pre-Collegiate and Summer Bridge Programs/Academic Advisor coordinates all aspects of BIOStar, MATHStar, CHEMStar, Super Scholar Excel, and the Stress on Analytical Reasoning (SOAR) Programs. The coordinator will also serve as Academic Advisor in the Student Academic Success Office.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors’ degree from an accredited institution.
Two years of leadership experience with planning, implementing, and evaluating programs designed to prepare students for college.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in education, counseling and guidance, college student personnel administration or related area.
Three years of program planning and relevant academic advising in a post-secondary setting.
Understanding of organizational and business practices in a college/university setting.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative environment.
Ability to work independently and develop new business processes to improve operations to effectively meet program outcomes.
Energetic and enthusiastic.
