University Registrar Services is seeking a detail-oriented individual to join the Graduation team on the Tempe campus as a Credentials Evaluator Sr. to evaluate, verify and process student applications for graduation. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong customer service skills, communicate effectively, tech-friendly and have experience in higher education. Essential Duties
- Review degree audits and /plans of study to ensure all degree requirements will be satisfied by students who have applied to graduate.
- Review, verify student records and post degrees for students who have met all degree requirements
- Respond daily via telephone, email or in person to inquiries from students, advisors, or department or college representatives regarding student application status, degree status or departmental procedures related to graduation; provide information and referrals as needed.
- Notify students of graduation/application status, including awarded, approved or withdrawn.
- Assist with updating, revising and maintaining intern policies and procedures.
- Add or remove certificates and concurrent degrees to student records in PeopleSoft.
- Utilize established reports to assist with workflow and delegation to other staff.
- Assist with preparation and proofreading of the university commencement program.
- Assist and facilitate diploma, e-diploma and replacement diploma orders.
Minimum Qualifications
Three years of general clerical experience which includes one year of experience in credential evaluation; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in a higher education environment.
- Evidence of effective communication skills.
- Experience in customer service and problem solving.
- Computer experience using MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel and the internet.
- Demonstrated knowledge of ASU policies and procedures.
Working Environment
Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work. Occasional bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds. Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts. Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
