Job Summary
Under general supervision, applies acquired skills as a revenue cycle analyst to complete projects of moderate scope and complexity. The Credit Analyst is primarily responsible for auditing all credit and undistributed balances to determine the ultimate resolution of those balances in conformance with the Controller’s office established policy and regulations. Analyst supports the Unit Manager in meeting monthly deadlines associated with posting reconciliation processes and is lead support to unit staff.

Department Description
The Clinical Practice Group (CPG) Business Services provides the University with an internal and centralized physician’s professional fee billing operation at San Francisco General Hospital. This includes all 20 ZSFG departments and one off-site clinic. The Business Office processes a total of 674,000 line charges per year consisting of $124M in billed charges. The Cash Management Unit within the CPG Business Services is primarily responsible for the maintenance, control, payment posting, refunds and/or final disposition of incoming revenue.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
- Minimum 1 year of directly relevant experience
- Working knowledge of the practices, procedures, and concepts of the healthcare revenue cycle. Knowledge of any or all of the following: billing, collections, charge capture, contractual adjustments, third-party reimbursements, and cash management
- Working knowledge of reporting instruments, metrics and / or dashboard design
- Detail oriented, with demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to manage time efficiently, prioritize tasks, set schedules, and complete projects in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Proficiency in common database, spreadsheet and presentation software
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment with internal staff in a wide variety of business and clinical areas
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated communications skills, with the ability to interpret and convey complex clinical finance information in a clear, concise manner. Ability to summarize and present reports and presentations
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate the effectiveness of workflows and systems
