We’re on a mission to continue to create highly efficient and stunningly beautiful fireplaces.Job SummaryLocation: Delta, B.CIn this dynamic, fast paced environment, the Credit Representative is responsible for accounts receivable collections from FPI’s customers (dealer network) while providing a high level of service to our external and internal customers in a professional and courteous manner, while minimizing past due receivables, balancing credit limits, minimizing collection risks, and bad debt write offs.Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain professionalism and act in a manner consistent with FPI mission and guiding principles
- Follow all organizational Health & Safety programs; actively participate in Health & Safety training with the purpose of gaining knowledge and understanding
- Contribute to a positive work environment focusing on Lean and continuous improvement initiatives
- Carry out the established program for the follow up and collection of assigned accounts receivables
- Work with approved collection agencies on accounts submitted for collection
- Make field contacts and further investigations when necessary to resolve accounts
- Take appropriate steps to minimize past due accounts, including placing customers on credit hold, based on a sound evaluation of a customer’s ability to repay
- Review completed credit applications, approve credit limits, and approve orders as per company policy
- Liaise with various internal departments (ie. Sales, Branches, and Customer Service) as necessary
- Escalate issues to Manager in a timely manner
- Apply cash received from dealers & update applicable reports
- Perform collections for export dealers
- Perform bank deposits as necessary
- Other related duties as required
Abilities/Skills/Knowledge
- Excellent communication skills (written/verbal), with an emphasis on professionalism & customer service
- Good interpersonal skills required, professional and courteous approach to collections,
- Working knowledge of time value of money concepts, interest charges
- Strong working knowledge of a variety of programs and comfortable with technology, including MS Office Suite and web-based applications
- Knowledge/experience with ERP systems (Epicor experience an asset), and online payment processing systems (Virtual terminals)
- Strong organizational skills; able to prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Flexible and willing to change with the environment
- Attention to detail and a results driven approach
Education/Training
- High school diploma
- Post-Secondary education (diploma or coursework) in a relevant field (i.e Busniess, Accounting)
Experience
- 1-3 years credit and collection experience
- Working knowledge of US and Canadian collection/bankruptcy law
- Previous work experience preferred in a fast-paced collections or customer service environment involving US and Canadian sales operations

The salary being offered for this position is $52,500 – $62,500 per year
