Hampshire and IOW Liaison and Diversion are excited to be recruiting for a Crown Court Liaison and Diversion Practitionerto be based at Southampton Crown Court.We’re looking for a qualified Mental Health nurse, Learning Disabilities nurse, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, or Practitioner Psychologist to join our team.You will have a keen interest in Liaison and Diversion and a passion for supporting service users who are navigating the Criminal Justice System.We are an exciting and rapidly evolving service that prides ourselves in the work we do with vulnerable people accused of crimes, and the supportive and progressive team culture we have.You will work with defendants to assess and identify need, care pathways and ensure decision makers have the appropriate information about the person, working collaboratively with a range of other professionals and stakeholders.Recognized with several awards, including Hampshire Constabulary Commendations, Berkshire Healthcare ‘Team of the Year’ and runner-up for the Howard League for Penal Reform ‘Liaison and Diversion Service of the Year’.We value our employees and put people first. We achieved an ‘Outstanding’ rating overall in our latest CQC inspection, which found that: ‘Managers across Berkshire Healthcare promoted a positive culture that supported and valued staff, creating a sense of common purpose based on shared values.’Main duties of the jobPolice Vetting is part of the recruitment process and clearance is a requirement for this post.You will lead and sustain a comprehensive Liaison & Diversion Service at Southampton Crown Court and have input into police custody suites and magistrates’ courts across Hampshire.You will provide leadership support to colleagues in police custody suites and magistrates’ courts.As well as ensuring assessments are undertaken, you’ll provide advice and identify robust care pathways for people with a potential health vulnerabilityYou will provide the police and court with written and verbal information about service users to inform decision making.You will work closely with key stakeholders within court and custody.Organising and managing your workload to meet deadlines.About usBerkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is a specialist mental health and community health services trust.
