Due to exciting changes within the trust over the last 18 months we are looking for an experienced CT/MRI Senior Radiographer to join our hard-working, dynamic senior team. The Radiology department has replaced many of its modalities and dramatically increased in size, allowing us to take on exciting and new opportunities.We are a forward-thinking department and carry out a wide range of MRI and CT examinations, including all routine scans and some specialised MRI techniques. We are busy and well equipped! Based at Lymington New Forest Hospital (LNFH). The department is equipped with a Canon Genesis CT scanner and has a new Siemens Altea 1.5T MRI scanner. We operate an extended day service across 7 days a week. There is currently no on-call requirement for cross sectional imaging.LNFH is a busy, community hospital with an Urgent Treatment Centre, situated just outside the attractive Hampshire town of Lymington, situated on the south coast – well known for its sailing facilities and the New Forest National Park. It is in proximity to both Southampton and Bournemouth with good road, rail and air links. We work closely with the acute Trusts of Winchester, Southampton and Bournemouth. There is free on-site hospital parking for staff. The department is located on the ground floor with windows overlooking the forest wildlife. The department has a comfortable, bright staff room and has the option of outdoor seating during the summer months.Main duties of the jobTo support the current CT/MRI lead radiographer with senior duties such as:Complete and monitor the electronic rostering system.Support and take a lead with HR processes.Actively lead with improving Image optimisation/radiation safety/maintaining staff competency records.Manage and support reviews with current contracts in place with partners such as Rydon/SHFT/OCS/Bracco/equipment etc.Undertake clinical supervision and ensure own clinical supervision as appropriate.Maintain risk assessments / H&S plans.Develop and initiate quality assurance and clinical standards audits.Engage with RPS training and represent CT/MRI at relevant meetings.Manage and be responsible for staff and stock resources within CT/MRI.To plan and perform CT/MRI imaging to a high level of expertise. To use initiative in adapting techniques to optimise image quality and diagnostic yield. To utilise in depth knowledge and experience to support the review of protocols and workflow.To attend Trust, regional and national meetings related to issues of Radiology service provision.
