Ocean Housing Group are proud to be recruiting for a polite and motivated Customer Services Apprentice.

The position is full time, 5 days a week, with 1 day at college.

What will the trainee being doing?

  • The successful candidate will provide a range of customer service and administrative duties to support the business in delivering a first class service to its customers, including answering customer enquiries wherever possible.
  • You will deal with customer enquiries effectively, sensitively, courteously and in confidence, in line with the organisation’s policies and procedures. This includes telephone, written or face to face enquiries made by external and internal customers and visitors to the company.
  • You will need to be able to maintain manual and computerised systems including inputting data, keeping records, statistics, confidential and general filing systems as required as well as organise meetings and events, ensuring that all necessary arrangements are made.
  • You will be required to adopt a flexible approach to work and where the need arises, to undertake any other duties or activities deemed to be within the competence of the post holder as directed by your Manager.
  • You will liaise with other staff of the business in order to maintain or improve the level of service offered to clients and customers.
  • You will help to maintain the best possible operational relationships with customers, taking all possible steps to accord with their reasonable wishes and taking account of any special needs. This role will allow you to gain lots of practical skills and experience to develop your career and gain your apprenticeship qualification.
  • You will promote and implement the Group’s Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Policy in all aspect of your work, and when dealing with colleagues and clients. You will undertake training as identified and directed in the provision of an efficient and effective quality service to clients.
  • You will be required to maintain full attendance at college and complete all required training to fulfil the requirements of apprenticeship.

What training will the position take and what qualification will I get at the end?

You will study towards your Level 2 Apprenticeship called Customer Service Practitioner and will be delivered through a combination of Work Based Assessment and attendance at Cornwall College St. Austell. The programme will culminate in an End Point Assessment, where the skills and knowledge gained on the apprenticeship will be formally tested.

What is the expected career progression after this Level 2 apprenticeship?

Potential for progression to a further course of study to achieve Business Administration Level 3 Apprenticeship for the right candidate.

Things to consider

It is expected that some flexibility to hours of work will be required in order to meet the demands of the job. You must ensure you have suitable travel arrangements in place to get to work and to attend college.
