Our aim is to put our customers at the heart of everything we do and to empower our staff by giving them modern tools to deliver consistent and quality council services.A new team has been formed to deliver the Transformation Programme – Future Dacorum. Over the next month a number of roles will be recruited to help us on our journey.This is an exciting time for Dacorum. If successful, you will be joining an innovative team working closely with services to make significant changes to the way we deliver to our customers.The Cyber Security Engineer will sit within the Infrastructure team to:
- Oversee and execute the patch management process.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and scans
- Monitor security alerts and respond to security incidents
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards (eg NIST, GDPR, PSN etc)
The focus of this role is to manage the security and integrity of the Council’s systems by implementing and monitoring comprehensive patch management processes identifying and addressing vulnerabilities, working closely with the wider ICT team to mitigate risks, and protecting the organization against cyber threats. This role will also work closely with the wider ICT teams maintain existing cyber security compliance such as PSN and also work towards additional certifications such as Cyber Essentials+.This is a hybrid role with working pattern being 2 days office based and 3 working remotely.Applicants must have a driving licence that is valid in the UK.A Basic check will be undertaken with the Disclosure and Barring Service to ensure that the successful candidate has no relevant convictions.The deadline for applications will be midnight on the closing date shown in the advert details.
