Job Summary
 

Develops reporting solutions to satisfy and support University stakeholders, supports financial applications, and delivers training on financial systems. Monitors and improves the quality of various technical and functional business processes, identifies, and resolves data issues. Responsibilities include collecting requirements, developing reports and dashboards, testing, leading process improvements, and training to support the objectives of the Institution. Monitors/manages Foundation cashflow and makes recommendations for investment of underutilized cash. Supports department leadership with various planning and analysis projects.


Responsibilities
 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
1. Partners with co-workers and leadership to understand the operations, challenges, and goals, which leads to the appropriate business intelligence tools and solutions
2. Responsible for the development and maintenance of business intelligence tools and reports
3. Identifies data sources, automates data updates, designs tools, and reporting
4. Manages information distribution, resolves data issues, and trains other team members
5. Accurately projects cashflow requirements to sustain daily operations, ensuring financial stability, and identifies underutilized cash for investment opportunities
6. Identifies and analyzes investment opportunities aligning with the organization’s risk tolerance to optimize available cash and generate returns
7. Prepares ad hoc analysis to help communicate results to leadership and assists in management’s decision making processes
8. Assists department leadership in developing content for presentations to division and/or university leadership


Required Qualifications
 

Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Computer Science, Business, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Engineering, or other related field
Required Experience
Three (3) years of experience in Business, Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, Systems Analysis and/or related field


Preferred Qualifications
 

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Advanced proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, or similar Data Mgmt/Visualization tool
Preferred Educational Qualifications
An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field
Preferred Experience
Professional experience in capital markets or treasury management


Proposed Salary
 

The budgeted salary range is $69,230 to $100,000.  Offers are based on relevant experience.

ABILITIES
Able to utilize multiple SQL based software modules
Able to create and deliver end-user training programs, jobs aids and manuals
Able to analyze data objectively to make data driven decisions
Self-motivated with the ability to learn new concepts quickly
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines
KNOWLEDGE
Advanced Power BI (or similar tool) skills including data management and data visualization skills to effectively organize data from various sources and communicate financial insights and trends to stakeholders
Understanding of database concepts such as schemas and data relationships
Proficiency in querying data from financial software to extract and analyze critical financial information
Working knowledge of accounting principles
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
Advanced Excel skills, enabling complex financial models to perform in-depth financial analysis
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
