Job Description:We are looking for a Data Protection Solution Architect to join a busy customer facing architecture team. The successful applicant will work independently and/or work with a small/medium design team. They will be a competent design authority on larger or more complex solutions, demonstrating an understanding of the customer’s business and commercial issues. They will identify, design, and deliver larger or more complex architectures, strategies and specific solutions and be responsible for the design and communication of structures to enable and guide the design and development of integrated solutions that meet current and future business needs. Have the ability, when required, to work closely with Live Service teams in a hands-on capacity. Changes to service, process, organisation, operating model and other aspects may be required in addition to technology components, and solutions must demonstrate how agreed requirements (such as automation of business processes) are met, any requirements which are not fully met or, and any options or considerations which require a business decision. The provision of comprehensive guidance on the development of, and modifications to, solution components will be available to ensure that they take account of relevant architectures, strategies, policies, standards and practices and that existing and planned solution components remain compatible.Your experienceCore Skill Set:

  • Provide technical leadership of solution delivery by defining the solution context and developing the solution vision, solution roadmap, and the capabilities required to meet them. Ensures that the solution design supports current and future needs by defining the solution’s high level structure, and ultimately evolves its contents. Understands what capabilities suppliers can offer and how they can contribute to the overall solution. Aligns with definition used by Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe®).
  • Backup Infrastructure – Proven knowledge and experience of Veritas enterprise backup solutions including NetBackup, Flex and NetBackup Appliances, OpsCenter and IT Analytics
  • Delivering secure cyber resilient solutions with a strong knowledge of business continuity
  • Automation – use of scripting and APIs for example Ansible and Shell scripts

Additional Preferred Skills:

  • Cloud Technologies – Some experience of Azure/AWS Cloud technologies and private cloud environments
  • Storage – Knowledge and experience of enterprise SAN infrastructures including Dell VMAX, ECS, PowerScale & the related tool sets and Broadcom SAN fabrics.
  • Operating Systems – Familiarity of the following operating systems: AIX, Linux, Solaris, Windows and HP-UX

  • Understanding and experiences in Risk management.
  • Excellent communication skills and well developed consulting skills.
  • High level of documentation skills
  • Technical leadership and appropriate gravitas for high level customer, project and bid team interaction.
  • Experienced in most areas of the solution lifecycle and enterprise architecture.
