Job Description:Reporting to the Manager, Data and Digital Thread, the Data Quality Analyst II is responsible for transforming raw data into actionable data quality insights that contributes to strategic decision-making. This role works closely with cross-functional teams to analyze large datasets, identify trends, and communicate findings to stakeholders.Note: This position qualifies for an optional hybrid work schedule after 90 days of onsite work and onboarding. Employee will be subject to the terms of the Flexible Work Policy Agreement.What you’ll doReporting & Metrics Development:

  • Designs, develops, and maintains interactive and visually compelling Power BI dashboards and reports tailored to the unique data quality requirements of the shipbuilding industry.
  • Creates data models and data structures ensure efficient data organization and retrieval. Implement data transformations, calculations, and aggregations to support data quality analysis and reporting needs.
  • Integrates data from different sources into data quality measures and reports, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
  • Generates regular reports and ad-hoc analyses using enterprise tools such as Power BI, Oracle Financials & Python.
  • Customize reports based on stakeholder requirements and provide insights to support decision-making processes.

Data Analysis and Interpretation:

  • Analyzes complex data sets related to shipbuilding projects, design and production processes, and performance metrics to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
  • Provides insights and recommendations to enhance operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and overall project success.
  • Identifies and describes the complex root-cause interplay between business processes and technologies in data quality issues in the development of data quality measures.

Collaboration:

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including engineering, project management, and finance, to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
  • Communicates findings and insights in a clear and understandable manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities for process improvement and automation.

Data Governance:

  • Ensures the integrity, security, and quality of data through effective data governance practices.
  • Establishes and enforce data standards and best practices within the shipbuilding data environment.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a data analyst.
  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar role.
  • Proficient in data analysis tools and languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R) is essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with database management concepts.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with data quality issues associated with multi-dimensional data (including time-series, spatial & computer aided design (CAD) is a plus.

The estimated salary for this position is $82,700 – $99,200 In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate’s skills and experience as well as position location and internal equity.
