The incumbent works in a collaborative environment making use of multiple data sources to identify opportunities and insights that positively impact operational efficiencies, loan loss avoidance and/or improved productivity. The scope of responsibilities also include special assignments or projects where required.Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:1. Data Analysis

  • Design, develop, test, and implement advanced analytics solutions using statistical methods, algorithms, and visualization techniques to achieve business objectives.
  • Conduct rigorous data analysis and modeling on projects of varying complexity, delivering clear and actionable insights.
  • Prepare and present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

2. Identification of business needs

  • Understand key drivers of operational efficiency and optimization across different channels in all the Bank’s markets. Support the making of strategic and tactical business decisions based on that data-driven elements and insights
  • Identify and document all data elements required to develop descriptive and prescriptive statistical models including ongoing liaising with stakeholders to ensure secure and continued access to databases. Technical expertise is required to link files and datasets locally.

3. Business Partnership

  • Collaborate effectively with stakeholders in Corporate Functions and other business lines in Canada and International Banking.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and impactful project delivery.

4. Recommendations to Business lines

  • Develop presentations of analysis performed, providing interpretation of results and insights along with actionable recommendations to countries’ key business stakeholders. Provide fact-based analytical advice that aligns to the strategic objectives of the project, company and stakeholder needs.
  • Improve productivity, cost savings and/or revenue for channel stakeholders through the creation or recommendation of meaningful KPIs and optimization metrics.

5. Risk & Compliance

  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

Dimensions

  • Global mandate/focus requiring coordination with several Spanish speaking countries. Spanish is considered a strong asset.
  • Responsible for supporting high impact analytics initiatives to drive Bank’s partnerships and strategic alliances analytics financial objective over the next 3 years in support of the Bank’s Analytics Roadmap
  • Part of multifunctional teams, including in-country team members to ensure on time delivery of project outcomes around Bank’s partnerships and related benefits

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantitative discipline (Math, Statistics, Computer Science or related).
  • Proficient technical knowledge in SQL, Python, and Power BI.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), large language models (LLMs), and Bitbucket is a plus.
  • Strong business and communication skills with ability to present recommendations to non-technical audiences.
  • Quick learner, able to comprehend complex topics in a short period of time.
  • Prior experience in retail banking and/or banking operations is considered an asset.
  • Fluency in Spanish considered a strong asset.
